I’m sorry you don’t like the new page. We feel the old page was dated and needed an update. We have move all of our activities into one combined activity. We feel that varying the activity you do is more stimulating for the brain and will be more effective than doing just multiple choice. You can control the events that are included if you don’t like some of them. But, we suggest you give it a try.
If you prefer the other page, it is still there at Login - LingQ.
The Android app is being completely rebuilt and redesigned to match our new look and feel. It will have the same type of activities as we have added here.
Sorry about that. There are some issues we are working on. When you choose a new date and click Apply, the new list should appear. It doesn’t always work when clicking through from the email or notifications. You may have to open the Filters and click Apply to show that day’s list.
@jossolivia - I can’t seem to reproduce the issue with the French term as an option. Can you please reload the page and try again? Is it still happening to you? If so, can you send us some screenshots of what you see at support at lingq dot com.
That is strange. Let us finish pushing a few more updates, then, if this is still a problem, we may request access to your account so we can go in and see what is happening there.
Yes, you can adjust the settings to only show flashcards. When you start a review session just click the gear icon to manage settings. The edit control is visible on the back of all cards just like in the old view.
I saw flashcards but when I rewiew the word and see flashcard and I couldn’t make any change,I want to change and correct the sentence which come from original context,I want to add extra example sentences but unfortunately I can change just “translation”
Why isn’t it possible to modify the original phrase anymore? The selection of the original phrase is sometimes very strange and the context is lost. In my opinion this feature is really necessary.
By the way, using the new Vocabulary page, I get again the impression that there is no effective QA (quality assurance) in your software development cycle.
We removed this functionality because it was something that not many users used and creates additional complexity which can be confusing to the majority of users. We have tried to simplify our interface to enable new users to understand it and get started more easily. We will study the idea of enabling phrase editing in the Vocabulary page but, if we do it, would need to figure out how to make it unobtrusive.
Regarding QA, the only true bug mentioned in this thread has to do with clicking through from the daily email or notification and the list not being correct until the Apply button was clicked. All other issues raised relate to the way different users use the page and did not come up in testing.
Looks good and seems to work well for me on the desktop and on Android chrome browser. Looking forward to it being incorporated in the Android LingQ app.
Filter system seems clearer and easier to use than before. Export improvements appreciated.
Thanks for the update!
