Translator not working

Can you please give us more information? What exactly doesn’t work for you?

When I click “translate” nothing happens.

Are you referring to Translate Sentence feature in the sentence mode?

The same happens to me in Chinese. Nothing happens when asked to translate the full text. Sometimes it works partially just for a few sentences.

Hey LingQ! Fix "Show Translation"

I say Sentence View is the core functionality of LingQ. That “Show Translation” has been broken for a week now is a shocking indictment of LingQ’s development process. “We are looking into the issue” is not at all a satisfying response, especially given LingQ’s feeble history of fixing bugs. “Show Translation” is a key part of my learning process. And why not? Isn’t that an absolute requirement for a language app these days?

Problems with the translation tool since a week

Hi I am experiencing problems with the translation tool since a week. So far, it was working very well. Then suddently, the translation is not showing when i click on the button to show the translation. Sometime it works, but then it stop at the next sentences. I though i was having a problem with my firefox so i change to Chrome but the problem is the same. thank you for your help

[bug] "Show Translation" effectively broken

The past couple days “Show Translation” provides a translation within 10 seconds less than half the time. It may also respond to the target sentence in the target language instead of translating it. My guess is that “Show Translation” now calls an AI and the request is timing out or the AI isn’t being prompted properly. This is annoying and wastes my time. I wish LingQ would go back to the previous arrangement. –Window 10, Brave

The translator no longer works for me. What should I do?

• Set Settings/Reader/Sentence Translations/Default Translation Source to Gooogle Translate.
• Click the “Show Translation” button or press the shortcut key (Shift-T) quickly multiple times. until you see a translation.

That works for me about 80-90% of the time, though it’s far from ideal.

Thanks jt23. I switched to DeepL, but it’s still not right. It shows translations for highlighted words automatically but it doesn’t translate phrases/sentences.
