Is it supposed to work like this:
Кто-то is supposed to show up as two words, and the student can manually convert it to one word
That seems perfectly reasonable to me–I am just asking if that is how it is supposed to work.

Yes that is how it has always worked up until a few days ago. Before they were separate words you could lingq individually or select both if you wanted to lingq them together… Worked just great. Now they have made it so it is impossible to lingq the words separately, and introduced bugs that are affecting everything, including lingqing the new single word hyphenated word mess they created. So you can’t even lingq them at all now. Again, all for a change that no one was asking for, and that isn’t needed. Very frustrating.
Hi everyone, just an update here. We will soon release a fix for the mentioned issue. It will be reverted back. Thanks for your patience.
Thank you @zoran really appreciate it. ![]()
Blue hyphenated words are back in IOS 6.0.12. While you can’t mark individual words, at least you can mark the hyphenated word as ignore, known or learning.
Can confirm the same, in newly imported lessons hyphenated words still / again show up as blue.
They should be reverting it back to being individual words. I know on PC hyphenated words are now completely greyed out and can’t be clicked at all, so hopefully they are working on it in the background and it will be fixed soon. ![]()
Hi @zoran Is there an eta on this? At least on the web/PC side of things? They are just completely greyed out now, so can’t do anything.
@TomErikSmith I hope we will push a fix for this on Monday. Appreciate your patience.
Perfect, thank you ![]()
Is this schedule still up to date? It would be great if I could return to my normal LingQ routine tomorrow. The last two weeks the desktop version was practically unusuable.
@zoran
?
If it was meant to be solved in the latest update, I’m sorry to have to disappoint: I just updated to 6.0.14, and the issue still exists. I have restarted the app, and tried importing a news article, and hyphenated words are still not seperated.
I think that is the old version, at least on android that version is a month old.
But besides the app, why has this not at least been fixed on the web version? This is actually stopping me from using lingq right now.
It can’t be that random unrequested, unneeded updates, randomly get implemented, and then it takes weeks (almost 3 now and counting) of complaining and hounding until its fixed.
It would be fine if this was some passion project from some developer on github, but this is a “premium“ paid service. Very frustrating, and kills your momentum and motivation on the platform.
Maybe Android uses different numbering? The version I use I downloaded less than 24h ago.
Ah yes, sorry, the android version is 6.1.14 not 6.0.14.
the issue still persists (Android and Web)
Still no changes in desktop ![]()
Yeah and indonesian and tagalog theyre not counted as two separate words anymore. In indonesia they can be plural form of the word or a whole new meaning. Barely does the app get either right. I dont understand why this is so difficult, especially since you can combine words and save them as links with a whole new meaning anyway
While we’re at it, im also confused as why numbers dont save. You can add them as a linq but they just disapear when the lesson is done. Numbers touching a symbol or letter cant be save at all
They might not fix it today, or tomorrow, or this week, or next week, or this month, or next month, or this year, or next year… but they are working on it, and will have it fixed, so don’t you worry. ![]()
