Audio file not syncing with imported text

Hi there,

I’m not sure if anyone else has this problem but since the update there is no attempt from LingQ to sync the audio file I import with the associated text at all. Prior to the update this was not an issue. I am using the same audio format, similar audio length/size, etc.

Is this a known issue and is it being resolved?

Thanks!

I have the same issue. In sentence mode, the web languages are used instead of the original audio. The timestamps are empty.

We will look into this, thanks.

I had a similar issue, but even worse since it matched the translation of the first sentence to the chapter title for some reason.

I talked about it HERE but received no response.

Is there any update to this? Importing lessons is virtually impossible now without this capability.

No updates yet, but this is reported to our team. We will get to it.

Hello @arnekoefoed could you please check is it okay now after last update?

Hi there, no it seems to still not be working. I tried making a new lesson with a 21 minute mp3 file and still no luck.

@arnekoefoed Could you please describe exact steps. Do you import text file and mp3 file both at the creation step? Or do you add audio file later? What formats of files do you use?

Both at the same time at the creation step however, I don’t import a text file I use a copy & pasted text. I’ve also tried adding the audio file (always mp3) later and have no luck.

I just tried importing a text file (.txt) with the mp3 file and it did not work either.

To be clear when LingQ gives you the notification “Timestamps generated” that should mean the audio file was successfully synced with the text, right?

Just chiming in to say that I have the same problem. I import text (copy-paste) and the mp3-file and the audio is not synched. This is slghtly annoying.

Hello @PatrickOudejans Could you please clarify, did you try this option? Is lesson still out of sync after it?

You tried ‘Generate timestamps’ option, right? Could you please add a link to the lesson to check?

Yes, I have tried the ‘Generate timestamps’ option which made no difference.

I’m sorry but I’m not quite sure how to add a link to the lesson.

Is this what you mean? I’ve applied to make it shareable but it’s pending right now.

@arnekoefoed thank you a lot! I was able to reproduce the issue. We will work on it.
