Ihave been on Lingq for about ten years but never tried using a YouTube video and now I’d like to try it. I’ve searched through a lot of posts but haven’t seen anything on HOW to do this. (All In find are discouraging posts about how it’s not working.) Is there somewhere on the site, maybe an FAQ with directions?
I don’t know if this extension/app is available for all browsers and mobile apps, but it is what I use to bring YouTube videos and their captions into LingQ when using Chromium-based browsers like Chrome and Brave:
Make sure that you have the proper captions selected in your YouTube settings to match the audio in the video before you import it. (For instance, if the video is in Italian – and you’re studying Italian, make sure that the settings have the captions displayed in Italian.)
It’s been working for me when I set it up that way. Just make sure that the video has captions that match the original audio.
Good luck!
