The kind of song that motivates you to learn German

It is a heart-stopping in the middle and getting better and better towards the end.

Songs are also a good way to learn languages…

It’s not available in Germany “Dieses Video enthält Content von UMG. Es ist in deinem Land nicht verfügbar.” I cannot even see the title :frowning:

Absolutely. I listen to French songs for both enjoyment and learning. My recent favourite is “le premier jour du reste de ta vie”, which I think shows the beauty of the French language to the fullest. (I also watched the movie.)

@Veral:

I hope this works:

In my first comment, I meant to say “It is a bit slow at the beginning but heart-stopping in the middle…”

I like the German band Anajo.
Not huge on Rammstein though.

Thanks for mentioning Anajo. I am checking it out.

@3kingdoms: Thank you. Your second link worked.

Personally, I’m not a fan of Rammstein. Some of their texts use a kind of language that you shouldn’t use or the text glorifies things that I don’t like. But this song is nice and the text is fine.

“Ich bin ein ganz besond’rer Mann” by Knorkator.

Hehe. I like the music. I wonder if Veral approves of the lyrics.

I cannot see the video in the last link: “Dieses Video enthält Content von WMG und UMG. Es ist in deinem Land nicht verfügbar.
Das tut uns leid.” (I’m not sure if they really regret it  )

But I found another video with this song. My honest opinion: This song has a horrible text, and it is absolute useless if you want to learn German. And the pronunciation is horrible as well. I can understand if people like the sound of the music but every intelligent person would strongly dislike this text.

Are they note native speakers or something?
Or why is it bad German?

They over-pronounce words. The pronunciation is a kind of artificial (probably as part of their style). You can read about Knorkator here: Knorkator – Wikipedia

The text are often vulgar or absurd. I can only recommend to be careful which songs you choose for language learning.

Yeah it’s not really my type of music.

Vulgarity isn’t a big problem in language learning unless you don’t know it’s vulgar. How embarrassing could that turn out to be!

Interesting about the pronunciation though.

Marlene Dietrich, Sag mir wo die blumen sind - YouTube

Any song that is not very slow in beats i like it

For me, the best Rammstein video is:

(Also good for beginners: it’s clear, slow, and has simple vocabulary, etc!)

Ich will. The title of this song is related to future tense, right?

In this case it relates to “want” - just like the English title of the song says. I will, dass ihr mir vertraut. I want you (pl) to trust me!

That’s not my line, it’s the first line of the song.

Curiously enough, I quite like Rammstein and also find some of the Knorkator texts deliciously funny. (They use the language very intelligently, but as Vera said, they are quite rude.)
