I there a way to say, please don’t ask me about this again? I’ve now seen the ad for Premium Plus, which takes over the whole screen and completely disrupts study, about 50 times.

If I am already a lifetime Premium user, can I upgrade to plus for life? If I can’t renew my subscription and upgrade to Premium plus, will it affect my original lifetime membership?

Previously, we had the option to get a simplified version of the lesson for free. Now, there’s only an AI-powered simplified version, and it comes with a pay symbol. It feels like we’ve lost something we once had and now have to pay for it.

And i might be wrong, but I have a funny feeling that the grammar explanations Lingq said they were working on will also be put behind a paywall. It hasn’t happened yet, but if it does, it will feel like a punch in the stomach to those, myself included, who have been asking for these new features for years.
Next it will be Premium Plus users get priority bug fixing when the rest have to clench their teeth and live with it.
I am not a fan of this new approach I have to say.

Grammar and other explanations are handled quite well by Grok, ChatGPT and other LLMs.

I definitely understand the feeling. I perceive a new way to trick people to spend more money. They take away previous features, and add a (+) if you want them, when we had them before when we decided to go Lifetime!
Is a 6x Audio Transcription legit or they slowed down everybody else to make it so, for example!
Too bad LingQ is taking this road!

I agree, I use ChatGPT for this, no need to pay an extra for tools that are already out there. Honestly, I don’t use much Lynx either, as I use ChatGPT with a dedicated bot for my training. However, it would be useful if it were integrated with our vocabulary database and style.

True, but i would prefer them to appear when clicking on a word in Lingq without having to rely on external tools.

It’s 6 times the amount/monthly allowance, not the speed it takes. But considering it used to be unlimited, this is not very enticing. Not to mention that ai simplified lessons was a standard feature as well, but not anymore I guess.

@Zoran, I can’t seem to get an answer to these questions and all I see is a bunch of users guessing about what we have or don’t have etc.
I don’t suppose there is an FAQ somewhere? I have to decide if i’ll be ok being a lower tiered user or if the more expensive price is worth it to me - but I need to know 1. How to upgrade in IOS. 2. Differences in services. 3. Services that I have been paying for but are no longer available to me.

sounds like the penny pinching price hikes dating apps have been doing for years, paid language apps have always been better than this

Disregard. I found the sign-up costs and offerings and see the differences. It seems LingQ is going to be $450 a year to use the upgrades and to continue to use some of the things we were previously able to use. I’m going to move on to a different app and let my sub lapse next month. While upgrading things on LingQ you might think about upgrading your marketing team.

I’d really appreciate some clarity on the upcoming changes regarding the new premium package. It would be helpful to know exactly what current features will disappear for users who choose not to upgrade.
Other users have mentioned that the “Simplify Lesson” feature will be part of the additional-cost premium package. Is this true? An itemized list of all such changes would be incredibly useful. I’ve looked through the website but haven’t been able to find one.
Knowing what will stay and what will go would help me and others make an informed decision.
