“the LingQ team decided for each language individually, how to continue with the hyphen situation”
This has never been the case… I don’t know where you are getting this information from.
It as always been the message for the entire THREE MONTHS now, that all hyphenated words will be reverted back to being separate words as they were originally, as you can see here:
"All of these hyphened words are word entries in the Oxford English Dictionary and when you think about it, these English examples have a particular meaning and there is (usually) a reason for the hyphen…" etc, etc…
We all discussed this THREE MONTHS AGO already… if you want to count them as one word, you can… just select them and create a lingq of them together.. or if you want, you can save them individually, or ignore one and save the other, or ignore both… You can do whatever you want! But now you can’t… That’s the problem. This was already discussed/debated THREE MONTHS AGO, I do not know why you are trying to argue this now.
“I am sorry to say, that not everybody cares about the hyphened words”
We know… You do not care about this issue… it does not affect you… Which is great for YOU… Awesome! Carry on with you life, that’s great, I’m genuinely happy for you.
We, at least @JulianiTOgo and I, DO care about this and have been trying to get a solution for THREE MONTHS, and have been told the entire time that this will be reverted back to how it was before…
@Fer.weh I do think you are being genuine and are trying to be helpful, don’t get me wrong, but like you said, you dont care about this… I genuinely hope that this never happens to you and an issue YOU care about, or that lingq tells you for three months that they will fix it in a couple days, and never do. I hope that never happens… But, if it ever does, and it’s an issue that I don’t really care about or that doesn’t affect me, I know that I for sure will be on your side and will be thinking, “That sucks for them, I hope lingq fixes it soon for them.” Because I would be able to empathise with having the way something functions on lingq change for no real reason on you, and that if it is something that affects the way you use the service, that that would be really annoying at the very least.
I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else on this platform, it’s not fair and it’s frankly insulting at this point.
Rant over, carry on. ![]()
