Join the Lynx beta to try out a major update to LingQ

We’re excited to announce the release of the Lynx beta for web and iOS. Lynx is our new conversational AI that can discuss lessons you’ve read with you. You can create LingQs right in the conversation, and even export the convo as a lesson to learn with later!

We invite you to try out the feature to your heart’s content, and to let us know what you think. If you want to try out the beta, post here and I’ll add you to the group so you can test.

The beta is currently live for Web and iOS. Once I’ve added you to the group, you can try out Lynx the following ways:

  1. Go to Login - LingQ to try it out on Web.
  2. Manually update your iOS app (or just wait for it to update for you!) to see the Lynx option on iOS.

The Android beta will be released very soon - If your interested in trying it out on Android, post in the thread and I’ll reach out once it’s ready!

I’d like to give it a go. What could possibly go wrong? It sounds intriguing.

Yes please. Web version.

Yes please. Web version. Thanks.

Would like to try too :slightly_smiling_face:

I would like to try it. Sounds cool.

I think this is a huge upgrade, it adds an incredibly useful way to practise output. I will provide feedback as requested at a later date, but as yet nothing noteworthy. I encourage others to try it, it’s very easy to use.

Oh yes, one minor issue. I can’t figure out how to use it in the iOS app, so I used the web interface instead. There was no iOS update available when I last looked. I’m on V5.7.6.

Added on Tuesday: Thank you, the update is now available, and installed.

I’d like to try it, thanks.

Yes, please add me too.

@davideroccato @Happyfist38 @nicholasc1 @Alan_R @bbbblinq You’ve all been added to the beta testing group. Let us know what you think!

And @johnd2 as well - You’ve been added!

Could I try too? Thank you!

Is this AI able to fix lessons, compare text to the audio and adjust timestamps to be more accurate? or is it just for conversations?

I cannot see the AI being authorized to modify lessons in any way.

I’m with you in wishing that timestamps could be more accurate. However, I think that problem is caused by Whisper and they have no control over that.

I also want to try. pls invite me too

i see, yea it will be cool if AI can check and auto tweak the timestamp. whisper has some pronunciation problems that i don’t like so I create and use my own TTS audio generated from inside Calibre. Most part of audio line up ok but there are many parts that always end 0.5-1 sec too early.

Will be nice if there is button I can press for AI to auto check and make/recommend fix.

Very interested to try it on IOS please. Many thanks

Please add me too! Thank you!

First thought is that some simple tooltips on the icons would be useful but probably not top priority.

More important would be a speed control on the audio - it’s too fast for me in Vietnamese right now. Am I failing to spot a control panel for the voice somewhere?
