Dictionaries to add
also to look up words as they have been used in publications
I can function as tutor or someone that people can contact to practice, at least until we get better people available to pursue that function.
We have some non copyrighted materials to teach courses, are you ready for those to be loaded up?
we have some beginning conversation materials with subtitles, are you ready for that type of stuff?
I would like to get other materials up such as TG4.ie Irish programs with subtitles and teachers that sell courses, should I pursue getting contacts for you, making the contacts myself. How much are you ready for? How do we proceed from Beta to getting the materials people will want up?

Hi, I got the message from LingQ, that we should wait with uploading stuff until Irish is launched officially â on St. Patrickâs day,
They are still configurating and uploading âŠ
But dictionaries are helpful. (I already sent recommandations too )
As an Irish learner myself - I just finished my first course at uni - I would be glad for any content with audio!!

It would be great to know, it we could use the songs of TG Lurgan here. Itâs an independent Irish Summer school and they publish (mostly cover )
songs in Irish on youtube each year. But Iâm not sure they would allow it, because there are children/ teenagers in the music videos.

Is your wife a native speaker or a fluent second language speaker ?
Both langauges are official in Irish and some people go to school in Irish or live in areas that speak a lot of Irish. Iâm not sure which would be the âsecond langaugeâ in that case. She may be bilingual.

In Ireland most people learn Irish as a subject in school from age 5 upwards (I did too) but most donât use it outside the school system. I meant if yr wife is a native speaker like itâs her first main language/mother tongue, and not only a subject. We could use more people like that around!
Would also enjoy that! If itâs on YT it should be okay since theyâve already given consent to use it online.
I agree that content with audio is really good for learning, content with subtitles in Irish is the best in my opinion because depending on the dialect it can be pronounced differently.
The best resources Ive found are on youtube (ive submitted some here) besides that on netflix I think only the spongebob movie has Irish audio available.
One of the best resources is TG4 and depending on your level Cula4 (for cartoons). These apps are fantastic, available free all over the world.
There are some really good Irish dubbed content by native speakers too, one of the issues however is copyright, you have to get this content when its going. For example there is a Irish dub of south park saved somewhere out there but no longer available, this is true for other shows like adventure time and I heard there is professionally dubbed content for movies like Harry Potter. All this content is by professional native speakers, but the vast majority is lost presumably gathering dust on a shelve somewhere in Galway.
With TG4 and cula4 there are also very few subtitled shows, Ros na RĂșn is the most famous/popular (tbh ive never watched this). There is also a few others like Aifric and i think LĂ BĂĄn but again I have not watched much of these.
Anyway this is my long winded way to say it would be amazing if TG4 or Cula4 support could be added.

Why people are producing Irish programmes without Irish subtitles is beyond me.
Actually it is not that easy. You canât just publish any YouTube-video on LingQ. So it is necessary to ask for permission first.
In the past I asked quite a few content creators for their permission (mostly for Catalan and German) and quite a few did not allow their content to be shared somewhere else. And I remember one answer being that there were people in these videos who gave their ok just for YouTube-videos.

I wrote to TG4 a few years ago about it. They replied to say they only employ people to do a few programmes like Ros na RĂșn unfortunately. No plans to change this atm.
