Importing parts of youtube videos

Hello,

Does anyone know a way of importing only parts of Youtube videos into LingQ?

For example, I have a 16 minute YT video which is too long to study. Can I just import the first 8 minutes and then the second 8 minutes to make 2 lessons.

Thank you.

That would be useful.

I agree. It would be very useful.

My only work-around now is to convert the YT video to MP4, import into into a video editor (Quicktime), edit it down to 5 minutes, export it. I then have to convert back to MP3 and import into LingQ. All very time-consuming!

I cant import at all. The importer was working well and now doesn’t. It says no appropriate captions found but I can see the captions. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi, there is an easy way to get there:
Import the full video, go to the lesson editor and just delete the part of the text, that you don’t want.

Not a great solution, however you could download the video from YouTube, trim it to only the part you want to keep, then upload it unlisted. I don’t know if Lingq allows unlisted YouTube videos to be imported but it might work.
