Importing from YouTube is taking forever. Is it still available?

Importing still not possible using both Firefox and Chrome, now I am getting the following message: Importing failed. No caption found.

Working perfect for me now using chrome extension on Mac . I have to say even with the constant problems LingQ seems to have its still damn good . The captions it generates are way more accurate than youtube auto ones from what I have seen so far ( e.g Youtube captions say RCN , LingQ says reciƩn)

@zoran I have imported youtube videos that are member-only accessible from channels I am a member of. However, I am not able to watch them in LingQ. It tells me that I need to become a channel member, which I am already.

My healing meditation YouTube has re-appeared today, on Mac desktop/Firefox.
Thanks, brother! You’re improving my quality of life.

Also using chrome extension also imported the lesson but the pending lesson failed.

I think it’s time to breakup with Lingq. I signed up for a year because I could import. But that feature hasn’t really worked properly since I started paying. We keep hearing it’s being worked on - we get our hopes up, then it’s back to the same thing. Just like a bad relationship.

This app has done the opposite of what I was hoping it would do as I continue to fall further behind on my studies. Instead of trying to learn a new language I’m busy trying to find ways to make it work as it should or trying to keep up in the forums to find out what’s happening.

There was so much promise, but it’s all turned into a disappointing waste of time.

I think I’ll stick with Lingq, but I’ll use it for text-only. If I want to watch videos in my target language, there are other apps for that.
I’ve been using Lingq for six months and I’ve never been able to import a video.

This should be fixed now. Thanks for reporting the problem.

For Safari too? Does it need to be reinstalled because I’m still having no luck

Didn’t work with firefox or chrome either. Tried several different videos on each and keep getting ā€œimport failed - no captions found.ā€

It’s still not working, Zoran.

Oooh, progress? One actually uploaded. That was out of 15 - so still not good but it’s something I guess. - it was just a fluke - nothing has worked since.

I am still getting the ā€œā€œimport failed - no captions found.ā€ā€ error as well. Disappointing.

Was this ever fixed? It doesn’t work for me on a macbook?

I genuinely like lingq but this makes it extremely frustrating to use.

One video imported from YouTube, three failed with a no connection error from YouTube.

It worked for me just now. I’m on the Edge browser. I didn’t update the extension. Choose automated transcript and selected the user created subtitles on the video. It worked in a matter of a few seconds.

It’s ridiculously frustrating. Without the import from YouTube I’m basically paying for nothing. I’m out of Portuguese content I want to watch so to continue my streak I have to watch stuff I’m not interested in, which isn’t particularly helpful and it just becomes a chore. Please get this fixed!

I’ve tried both Chrome with the extension and Safari with the extension on my MacBook as well as the app on iPhone which tells me to check my internet connection.

This point exactly! Lingq’s selling point on youtube is - ā€œwatch things you’re interested inā€ by importing content - it will keep you motivated.

You can see in my stats exactly when this feature is down because all of a sudden my usage is way down. I’m guessing that’s the same for many people on here.

I regularly import lots of videos to cope with these situations.
