I'm having a problem importing YouTube videos

Suddenly, I’m no longer able to import YouTube videos. It’s frustrating because I became a Premium member a few days ago and was really loving the site.

Geralmente funciona bem, mas agora está initulizável

Hi everyone. YouTube is temporarily limiting access to captions, which prevents video imports to LingQ. We’re monitoring the issue and will re-enable imports as soon as possible.

In the meantime, refreshing a YT page can help in some cases.

What makes you believe it’s temporary? Did they give a timeline? Sounds to me like this is a new youtube policy. If this is true it will greatly limit the usefulness of this app for many users like myself who use it mainly for youtube content and purchased it on this basis.

HI everyone! I’m also facing the problem, and eager to import Youtbe videos.

I’m new to the app, I signed up today. I hope the issue gets resolved. Without a doubt, YouTube videos would be my most used tool, more than Netflix.

@rpwyqs7hmc YouTube posted about it on their X channel, it’s a temporary issue they are dealing with that are affecting us:

Thank you, Zoran, fingers crossed …!

Importing to YouTube is already working on my Android.

How to import on Android?

Just click on the bottom share and click on Lingq, same procedure afterwards

I’m having the same problem with YouTube videos and getting the same message as above, and since YouTube videos are my main interest this makes LingQ nearly useless to me. Any progress on this problem please?

It should be working now

no importing in Android doesnt work too, the same error about no captions found

Is there any update on this at all? I’d feel so much better if the wording was changed from ‘monitoring the problem’ to ‘working on the problem’. LingQ is such an amazing app - but I agree with the other responses here - if I can’t import YouTube videos then the app is almost unusable for me. Fingers crossed there is a solution not too far away…

This is pretty frustrating to be in this situation, especially for those of us who import YouTube videos on a daily basis. It’s basically like having the app at a standstill.

I agree. Unfortunately it isn’t. :frowning: Safari on iOS iPad.

zoran posted the link to google’s response on twitter. it’s not an issue LingQ can fix. Here’s the support thread on google:
