How Can Using Current Tools Help You Learn Languages More Effectively?

Hey everyone,

I have started using apps that break down vocabulary into manageable chunks and incorporate spaced repetition systems; But here is the twist large language models have also entered the scene. I have been using them to practice conversations, generate creative phrases & even clarify tricky grammar points.

Have you tried integrating any of these tools into your learning routine?? How do you balance using tech with more traditional methods like flashcards or books??

As well, I found these resources when doing research on this; How much time it takes to me get learning a new language using this system? & if anyone have any resources, tutorials or personal experiences please share with me, It would be greatly appreciated!!

I’m using LLM in my language learning process. However it is only a small part, the primary tools are old ones like LingQ and Anki.

These are my use cases:

• Preprocessing transcripts (including YouTube caption)
• Making example sentences for given words (I use this when I create Anki flashcards.)
• And other typical usage (grammar correction in my writing, explanation about native expressions (that do not appear in my dictionary)

This is the prompt I’m using. You could use it by adjusting some parts designed for Korean English learners.

You will be given a list of words to create example sentences for. Each word may come with an English or Korean meaning. Your task is to create THREE example sentences for each word, along with Korean translations. Follow these guidelines:

1. The input list of words is provided here:
