@Estela - That’s right. That function will be in the new app. Hopefully not too far away now.
That seems very strange. What browser and which os? I assume you have tried clearing your cache there?
I have put some lessons into the playlist. How can I play the playlist?
hello! i love the new update but i was just wondering if there were any plans to update the avatars?
There’s a set of player controls at the bottom of the playlist. Click play to play the list. Or, click on an individual title in the list to play that title.
Glad you like the update! Yes, we would like to update the avatar when we have time. I can’t tell you when that will be though. But, it’s on our list!
Thanks Mark, I didn’t know how to find my playlist. I then clicked on the ‘see all’ button on my home page, and there it is! Now, how do I find the library? And I seem to not be able to download the mp3 files of lessons. I right click on what looks like a download button, and the window that comes us tells me I am saving the complete page, not the mp3 file.
Once you add something to the playlist by clicking the Add to Playlist button for a lesson, the Playlist will also show on the Feed page. When you click See All in the Recent Lessons section it takes you to My Lessons. You can then toggle between My Lessons and Library from that Search page. You will notice that you can click on the yellow Feed label to toggle between Feed, Search (Library, My Lessons) and the Getting Started page for beginners.
It would probably be helpful for you to watch the Feed video on the Academy page Login - LingQ.
To download the audio, click on the download button attached to the play button on the lesson page. I don’t know what device you use to do most of your listening but I recommend using our mobile app so you don’t have to download at all. The app does it for you.
For me, the download button attached to the play button that didn’t work. That’s why I posted. I need to download lessons because a lot of the time, where I live, the internet is either not working or so slow that the streamed file has gaps. This is also why my use of LingQ is quite sporadic at times. I’m downloading the latest version of the ios app at the present time. I think it will take more than an hour. 1/4 done in 25 minutes! I have a screenshot, but don’t know how to post it here.
Well, the app downloaded alright, but I can’t get in. It won’t accept my password and username even though I can log in from the same device using Chrome.
As well, I still cannot download the mp3 file from the lesson EPISODIO 1: ¿CÓMO APRENDER ESPAÑOL? Login - LingQ
@Ginkgo58 - I see that that is a lesson with an external audio url so it works a little differently. Some lesson audio files are not uploaded on our server and are shared via the original audio url. That is why it won’t download normally since it isn’t on our server and we can’t control it. To download that audio, you need to click the download button (left click), and then when it opens and plays in your browser, right click on the player and download the file.
Have you made sure that there is no strange capitalization issue when logging in on the app? Also, are you using username/password on the app? Logging in by email is not working on the mobile app.
I have checked several times very carefully that I am typing in the username and password exactly the same as I do if I log out from the webpage and log back in. I cannot log in to the app on either ios or android.
Yes, I can do that. I had no idea the files were not on LingQ. Does this mean it would be better to utilise the original site rather than importing the lesson into LingQ? I really only have been using LingQ to look up a few words in Spanish. I have noticed also that it seems as though LingQ lessons can stop and start if the internet connection is slow. Using LingQ improves my LingQ statistics, of course, but probably I don’t need LingQ to actually learn the language. And for learning Chinese, I can use a hovering dictionary and the original sites, from which I have been importing lessons.
It must be some strange issue. I will contact you directly by email to try and resolve it.
I have no idea what the original site does, the text is on LingQ and the audio player on LingQ works. The only thing not working is the download button when external audio sources have been used. The mobile app does let you listen and even when offline which is probably going to be best for you.
As for whether or not you need LingQ, the value in LingQ is not just in looking up words, but also in tracking all your word data so you can see your yellow words, move them up in status and review them using our Activities. All I can tell you is that I would not use the original sites and a hovering dictionary since that would just be less efficient and enjoyable for me.
It stopped working on my 2nd computer too
I used Firefox 30.0 on Windows XP and Firefox 50.0 on Windows 7.
It still works in Chrome, but maybe because I did not use LingQ there so actively before
Clearing the cash did not help to solve the problem. When I click the Forum link I can see the empty list asking me to scroll to see more The forum threads display just the 1st message.
Can you go to Tools < Web Developer < Web Console to see if there are any errors there in the developer console. Please take a screenshot of any error messages and send them to support.
