@Mariotkd, Resurgence1689 - Regarding returning the previous version, that isn’t possible I’m afraid. But, please be patient, we are working through the issues now. There should be a new version available in the next 24 hours with a lot of bug fixes and crash fixes.
Yes, it does look like the issue is the length of your titles which when you don’t have a course selected, also becomes the course title. Try to use shorter lesson titles and choose a course if you can. Either just the Quick Imports course or create one for each source you import from. It is much easier to organize lessons this way too. In the meantime, now that we know what the issue is we will make sure it gets fixed.
Thanks for letting us know!
Thanks. I am really enjoying this new version. I mainly use it on my tablet and its brilliant, even if it isn’t optimised for tablets yet.
When reviewing vocab in the SRS, I’m experiencing a problem with the “flip card” type of card.
When pressing “flip card”, the answer is only shown for a split second and then disappears. It’s so short I can’t even check if I got the word right. I can still listen to the audio of the vocab, but that doesn’t help to figure out if I got it right or not.
Huawei Mate 8, Android 6.0
I can’t reproduce that, it works properly for me (using Huawei too). Can you please try to reinstall the app and check again?
Well, the lessons work fine on the computer, anyway I prefer the classic view. I just import by copying a text from a webpage and very often I copy and past in several parts to omit some pictures or ads within the text - maybe this poses a problem for the app? This problem exists only in some imports, certainly a minority. There is no library just individual texts. I will try to reduce the title’s length. The next page is normal, it’s just this last line of the previous page is located too low to be seen. Maybe this is the problem with the app, but once again, when I opened the lesson on another mobile phone it was the same.
Thank you for this option in the new version.
Reinstalling worked., thanks.
Another smaller problem I’ve encountered is textboxes with too much text to fit the bubble. The text is not scrollable so it’s not possible to read the whole thing. Picture: https://i.imgur.com/VTdr5Ut.png
Thanks, we’ll get that fixed.
Hello everyone,
Is there any way to see all courses I’m studying? Like in the old android version?
There is a setting to show different pages, like Feed, My Courses, Course Library, etc.
As Ress says, under Settings, turn on My Courses which will then appear as a tab. You can turn off or re-arrange any of the existing tabs as well.
The update looks great!
I have a problem that bothers me though. I like doing the daily lingqs, but the behaviour of vocabulary repetition in the app seems to have changed a bit.
On the website, I get my notifications which I just click on to get directly start the flashcards. I answer the flashcards, and each term gets repeated two times. Those of which I get a correct answer on two times in a row, increase a level.
Now, in the new app, there are no notifications (why?). I found a way in the vocab section to choose the daily lingqs, so no biggie (even though I think it’s important to have the same behaviour on the website and in the app).
Now the main problem: When I start a session of flashcards, the term will get repeated only once, which means that they will never increase in level!
Maybe I overlooked some settings? I have gone through everything I could find though.
I have the same problem with vocab hampus. I’ve found that even some vocab that I know (level 4) will continue to be presented for multiple days in my vocab review, even though I got it right multiple days in a row. Others that I know won’t reappear the next days as expected.
“Full Text” view (whole text, scrollable) is also missing in LingQ for Android. Would also like to see this in the browser version, too. In the moment, you can see the whole text in the browser (right pane), but the font size is way too small.
Full text view, as it exists on the web and iOS will soon be available on the Android app too. However all LingQing will still be done only on the paged reader. Full Text view is mostly there for users who just want to follow the text while listening without having to switch pages.
Glad to hear you like the app!
The notifications aren’t done yet and will be added into the Android app in one of future releases. It’s work in progress.
You are right, looks like when only one activity is selected, each term show up only once in the review. If you include more activities, terms do get repeated as they should.
We’ll get that fixed, thanks for letting us know.
Is it not possible anymore to create more than 01 playlist?
You can only have one Playlist now in each language, but it’s synchronized across all devices on your account.
I still have the same issue with known words repeating every single day in my vocab review. It almost makes vocab review useless, other than knowing a small portion of them well. I tried to enable Cloze review to see if that would prevent them from reappearing in my vocab review but having those 2 types of review enabled didn’t work. I reviewed 50 vocab and it only showed me getting 8 right by how many remaining vocab it shows after the review is complete. I just continue to keep repeating these over and over, hoping that one day it will be fixed. I love LingQ, but this has been frustrating.
