I just started learning Dutch about a month ago. I am a native Afrikaans speaker, meaning that I understand at least 70% of the vocabulary, even when the spelling and pronunciation is a bit different. That being said, it’s still not easy to learn Dutch. Apart from understanding a bunch of words, it’s still a steep learning curve. Any other Afrikaans speakers tried learning Dutch, any advice and tips you can give would be highly appreciated. And finally, the “how long is a peace of sting question” how long did it take to become conversational in Dutch?
