I’m using LingQ for six years now and I have around 60,000 known words in multiple languages. But from time to time I still get the annoying tutorial that tries to explain everything to me.
Today it once again showed up on my iPhone (with many GB free storage) where I have LingQ installed since 2020 and never uninstalled it. I couldn’t skip it, it blocked me from marking words as known until the tutorial part for that feature showed up and it forced me to add a beginner’s course for a language I understand nearly as good as my native language and where I have 25,000 known words in LingQ.
And that isn’t the first time that happend, I had that nonsense at least 10 times since I’m using LingQ on multiple devices. Why don’t you just check whether the users have attributes (last time used, age of account, known word etc) that make it completely obvious that they don’t need that tutorial?
There isn’t even a question that asks you whether you want to see it or skip it. You have to go through the whole damn thing every time. At least provide a skip option for installations on new devices. Using LingQ on a new device doesn’t mean that I need a tutorial. And just to make it clear: it’s not only on new devices or new installations, it also reappears from time to time on a very old installation on a device I’m using for years with LingQ.
