Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn’t find it. Which translation tool is used on the backend of LingQ to translate sentences in sentence mode? And with the rise of the OpenAI. tools, is what is being used still the best? I was really glad to see Whisper AI being used, as it produces transcripts of podcasts or audio from video really well.

It is Deepl that is used in sentence mode.
It’s doing a fairly decent job, but performance can vary depending on the language and the complexity of the sentence. No AI is perfect.
AFAIK as of the newest update, it’s DeepL. In sentence mode that’s great, although in phrase mode it sometimes isn’t quite literal enough.
