As regards Eastern Guta, I think there are two possibilities: (1.) there was no chemical attack (2.) there was a chemical attack, but it was done by Islamist militants, who wanted to provoke some western intervention.
As regards Salisbury: there is no doubt that there was an attack on Mr Skripal and his daughter! (I personally know people who were involved in the police operations in the aftermath!)

Übrigens: ist es nicht eine Affenschande? Offensichtlich sind diese Fallschirmjäger keine normalen Soldaten, sondern sie sind Mitglieder einer elitären Einheit. Man sieht, wie die Männer im Video ihren Ultramarine farbigen Berets mit Stolz tragen!
Und dennoch hat man sie befohlen, diese würdigen Uniforme auszuziehen, und stattdessen irgendwelchen schmutzigen Klamotten anzuziehen: wohl speckige Jeans, Lederjacken und so - eben wie ein stinknormaler LKW-Fahrer! :-0
Aber auch das ist nicht so schändlich wie der zweite Befehl! Dass sie sich in solchen hinterhältigen und heimtückischen Aktionen begeben mussten, und dass sie versucht haben, einen armen alten Mann und eine junge Frau zu vergiften, ist meiner Meinung nach eine Art von Erniedrigung!

Die meisten Russen haben während der Sowjetzeit eine gute Impfung gegen beliebige Propaganda bekommen - wir glauben so einfach an nichts!
Vielleicht waren die westlichen “unabhängigen Medien” früher objektiver, aber heutzutage, während des neuen kalten Krieges zwischen Russland and westlichen Ländern, ist die Wahrheit in Medien völlig gestorben!
Es gibt nur Propaganda und im Westen ist sie sogar frecher und blöder!.. Und die Hauptsache - 95% der Weltmedien gehören zu westlichen Ländern, darum herrscht der westliche “Mainstreamopiniion” weit in der Welt.
Alles ist verständlish und alles ist die große, schlecht versteckte Lüge!
Man muss viele Medien im Westen und Osten vergleichen, um objektiv zu bleiben. Aber die meisten Leute haben dafür keine Möglichkeit und keine Zeit.

For Steve, based on a few videos, side comments, and my ability to intuit in such matters…and what the hell, just for fun, I myself actually suspect:
His anti-Trump attitude is squarely in the tradition of the center-right #NeverTrump people with a dash of the overall foreigner flavor (ie the non-US West/Canada-Europe) thrown in for good measure. They are turned off by Trump’s crass and often boorish behavior which is coupled with his “isolationist” stance of build the wall, rebuild the manufacturing base, and no more pointless wars.
For Russia stuff, many in this same crowd are gripped by Russophobia but with Steve I get the sense that he spent all the time of EchoMoski (that radio station) and started learning Ukranian and seeing this more from their perspective.
Both are understandable reasons and viewpoints, even if I disagree with them.
There used to be some very lively and interesting debates here on the forum, but it seems most of the contributors stopped posting a long time ago. That was years before Trump became famous worldwide, and one of the favourite topics was guns if I recall correctly.
