What is the bookmarklet and LingQCentral

@Domas @alex - every time I’ve had that happen (click on the bookmarklet, select a language, click import and then nothing happens) it was because 3rd party cookies were blocked by the browser. I bet it works if you create an exception for www.lingq.com.

Thanks for your answers, alex and cgreen0038.

The error console comes up with the following message:

[22:08:15.320] POST http://www.lingq.com/bookmarklet/import/ [HTTP/1.1 200 OK 633ms]
[22:08:16.003] SyntaxError: unterminated string literal @ http://www.lingq.com/bookmarklet/js/bookmarklet.js:124

@Domas - Thanks. Have you tried deleting and readding the import bookmarklet by the way?

I have, as well as adding a cookie exception.

On euronews.com, the error message changes to:

[05:18:51.080] POST http://www.lingq.com/bookmarklet/import/ [HTTP/1.1 200 OK 1944ms]

But it still doesn’t import any content.

@Domas - OK, we will look into this and let you know if we need any additional information. In the meantime, you may import private lessons manually by using the “Import Lesson” link in the Tasks dropdown.

@Domas - We did some further testing but are still unable to reproduce this issue. Would you be able to answer the following:

Which OS are you using?
Which browser versions do you have?
Please list all of your browser extensions.
Are you using a firewall?

Okay, I’m having this same issue; I don’t have a problem with it on my Mac air, but I recently upgraded my IMac to OSX 10.8.4, and then tried to use the import book marklet and nothing happens. I have now allowed cookies from Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, and deleted and reinstalled the mark in each of these programs. Still nothing. I have tried “allowing” www.lingq.com, but that doesn’t work either.

@CTaylor - Is it still causing problems for you? I just tried it now and it seems to work properly.

Yes, it is still not working. I cleaned the cache, I erased the marker and redragged it into the bookmark bar, I made sure that cookies are not blocked (Chrome).

Yes, there looks like there is a problem there. We will try to get it fixed as soon as possible. Sorry about that.

This just worked for me in Chrome

The problem is fixed for me now.

Yes, the bookmarklet has been fixed. Let us know if you have any more problems.

Thanks, Mark !

Hello! Import Bookmarklet doesn’t work :frowning:
After choosing language and pressing “Import” button - nothing happens. I updated link on javascript in my browser (google chome ver.34.0.1847.116 Ubuntu 14.04 aura (260972)) but it didn’t help.

We can look into the bookmarklet but I recommend you use the Chrome extension instead.

OK Mark, thanks for recommendation, I will try again. But bookmarklet also very useful, try to fix it please

hello is is possible to import sound and text simultaneously ? i have a sound recorder application to record the audio and save it quickly, but i have to open the edit lesson… part every time and it is quite tedious, if i could just select the text, default to japanese language and click for a file import that would be great! : ) thanks!

@FreeDebreuil - Unfortunately it isn’t possible to import audio using the import bookmarklet. You’ll have to click “Edit Lesson” in the lesson settings dropdown, then upload the audio file and click “Save and Open” at the bottom to go back to the lesson.
