What does this word mean?
“beef” means many things. Have you consulted a dictionary? If you saw the word in a sentence, can you include the sentence in this thread?
One definition:
Beef is what we call the flesh of a slaughtered cow. That flesh is intended for consumption by another animal, including humans.

You should use a dictionary and define what it means for you. There are many dictionaries on the right hand side of the panel. Also you can select what other people choose. However. This is the reason why there are two words for food items in English. The French occupied England for a couple of hundred years. So Beef: Is the modern sounding word that came from the French “boef” meaning “cow”. So the peasants would use “Cow” in the Kitchen, but the Masters sat at the table and would Speak French and eat the “beef”. Beef now has other connotations and i would encourage you to use dictionaries and find out what they mean as you go along. Then, when you find you can’t decide on an answer. Present and ask your questions and show options of what you think it might be. Hope this helps.
