What does this phrase "East Gate of Beijing University Station" mean?

I noticed that one station of Beijing Subway is named “北京大学东门站”. The English translation for it is “East Gate of Beijing University Station”.
I am puzzled by this phrase “East Gate of Beijing University Station”.
Does this phrase can be interpreted in two ways? One way is “East Gate of (Beijing University Station)” means the east gate of a station which is named “(Beijing University Station)”? Another way is “(East Gate of Beijing University) Station” indicate a station, the station’s name is (East Gate of Beijing University) Station?
Hope you can help me out.

To be clear they should write

Beijing University East Gate Station if the station refers to the East Gate of the university

or if they really mean the East Gate of the station

Beijing University Station East Gate

@Steve, thanks a lot. Your explanation satisfied me.
