What about having extra colors for grammar highlighting?

LingQ is great for learning vocabulary in context. I just wanted to suggest something that might make it even better. Right now the system uses two colors: blue for new words and yellow for words we have marked as not known. That works very well for vocabulary, but it could be very useful to have extra colors that are not connected to knowledge level, and instead let us highlight grammar inside a sentence.

For example, it could be helpful to mark verbs in one color, subject / direct object / indirect object in another, or highlight connectors and particles.

This would make it easier to see how the sentence works at a glance, while keeping the existing blue/yellow system exactly as it is.

It would not have to be automatic, just the option to manually choose a color for a word or phrase when needed. In many cases, this could also help with words that we already know in isolation, but are still unsure how to use correctly in the target language. Seeing them highlighted inside the sentence would make it easier to notice patterns and learn from context. Verbs are often followed by prepositions, and this can change from one language to another, so being able to mark them clearly in the sentence would make it much easier to see how they are used.

I think this could make sentence analysis in LingQ much more powerful, and help us learn vocabulary and structure from the same text at the same time.

Maybe adding a colored underline to the colored boxes so the original colored boxes can remain. I probably won’t need it, I am trying to move toward reading without the “training wheels” (highlighting)

I think this can also be possible by 3rd party extension. Maybe some programmer among us could help you do it.

Example this extension for Chrome called " Read Pronunciation: English & French" allows me to do what is shown in screenshot below. I can set it to gray out silent words and set nasal characters to cursive. It also has pop up dictionary on mouse hover.
