Using linqs to know word meanings

  1. When I click on a word, a set of “popular meanings” shows up on the right. Most are marked with a ‘+’, but some have stars before the ‘+’. What does that mean?

  2. Is there any way to remove those (especially the starred ones, which are often wrong)? If I click on one, it makes it the “selected” one, which I don’t want, and changes the word from blue to “known”.

  3. After I finish a lesson, ALL of the words in it are marked “known”, even though I don’t have the option “paging moves to known” checked. This basically makes the LingQ feature useless, since all future lessons will consider these “already known” words. Is there any way to prevent this?

  1. The suggestion marked with stars is ai generated. It’s a new feature I wouldn’t rely on though, as currently it has its flaws.
  2. Nope.
  3. You can alternatively close the lesson by clicking on the cross at the upper left (when using a browser, in the app it might be positioned elsewhere).
