Ok, so I was looking at the Kurzgesagt English YouTube channel and noticed that LingQ has a course for their content. The most recent updating of that LingQ course was about a year ago.
How can we ensure that these sorts of materials kept updated? If the original person who shared it doesn’t update, what happens?
O yes. It does. You can ensure yourself that the materials keep updated. Just visit the YouTube channel and import the lessons you want. Then the material will be updated for you.
Having courses available for everybody saves people time and effort. If there’s any way of helping curate content in the library (correcting spelling mistakes and updating courses), I’d be happy to help towards that effort.
One of the biggest features of LingQ is its large content library. Keeping that complete and up-to-date is certainly worthwhile.
Thanks for the hard work done up until that point, kurdavar.h!
I was looking at some newer videos recently and they had subtitles. Perhaps the situation has changed? If not, could AI transcription be of any use? I’m happy to work on that, if I can figure out how to do it.
If you want to keep material updated, then what you want to do as Leonkwek pointed out is to become a LingQ Librarian. However, if you decide not to become one, you can just import lessons for yourself and mark them as public in lesson editor. This way anyone can access them. Just make sure that the quality is high, and also make sure that you’re not sharing anything under copyright.
