I have never tutored anyone over skype, and I recently got a request by someone. How does it work, and what is some advice on how to give the best critiques. How does it work?
I’d recommend to make an audio recording for yourself. It helps to find the phrases of the students and to add them corrected into the report. It would be better to change the phrases making them more natural than the student said. It is also appreciated to read out loud the text of the report and attach the audio file.
Usually the conversations begin like “were are you from”, “what is the weather today”, etc. At the begining of a conversation you just need to feel how good the student can speak and understand you. Don’t worry, just enjoy the dialog and let the student enjoy it, too.
