Transcript defaults to English

If i find a video on YouTube that only has CC in my target language, importing it works just fine. However, if the video has options for captions in English as well, the import defaults to English. I have tried this on several videos and it’s the same for each one: I’m watching it with Greek on YouTube, import it to lingq, and now it’s in English. I don’t know if this is an issue with the import feature or just something I need to adjust in the YouTube settings, but I’m having no luck finding a solution so far. I’ve changed the YouTube app language to Greek, the default subtitle language to Greek, made sure that it’s showing Greek subtitles when i copy the link, and yet, lingq makes an English lesson out of it.

That issue should be fixed. Are you importing via app or web?

Importing on the app. I can’t get the importer browser extension to work and it appears to be mandatory, so the app is the only way I can import at the moment.

Why are you unable to import via browser extension? What browser are you using and did you update the extension to the latest version?

I’ve been doing everything through the app until you asked how I was attempting to import lessons. After taking a few minutes with the computer, the browser extension is working fine and it did import a lesson correctly. It would be nice to have this working on my tablet, but it’s an issue for a fairly small amount of videos and I do at least have a workaround, so it’s not a big deal.

Thanks, we’ll check what’s going on on the app version.
