The meaning of {take her wrap, find her an empty lap}

I am not clear about the meaning of this phrase. This is from an old song called “Hello, Dolly”.

“Dolly’ll never go away again” is the following sentense.

A ‘wrap’ is another word for a shawl so basically it’s saying something like “take her shawl and find her a man’s lap to sit on” In the next verse they also say find her an “empty knee”.

Basically the songwriter is saying that if Dolly has a handsome man to give her a cuddle then she will stay.
