"The lesson audio is being generated. Please wait."

Hi, I’ve been trying to import Youtube videos both on mobile and web but it does not generate the audio.

I’ve also tried downloading the mp3 file for the Youtube video and uploading it along with downloaded subtitles, however this does not work either; when I drag and drop OR click to select file it does not respond.

This is a major problem for me as the only way I learn is by listening and reading at the same time . As of now the sistema is not able to generate audio.

Any update on this ?

I’ve been a paying Member of LingQ for 3 years now using it off and on for that time. This has happened A few times before and while it is frustrating it has always been fixed in the past. I I was told before that youtube changes something on their end so LingQ has to adjust. I have no reason to believe it won’t be fixed.

Yes. I have the same issue using Mac OS. I reported it as well and Zoran said they’re looking into it.

Please note that, unfortunately, due to breaking YouTube rules, we no longer import audio for YouTube imports. From now on, you will get a video and transcript only.

Thanks for the update!

Since I’ve started on LingQ it’s has starting become “buggier” and more awkward and clunky to use. Now, whole functions are not working… If LingQ was a meme it would be a picture of a patient in bandages on life support.

I just imported a video from YT with no problems. I’m a premium YT subscriber, btw. Maybe this problem is fixed?

thats disappointing considering this was a major selling point and recommendation point for LingQ. I hope this doesn’t drastically impact my LingQ usage. I suspect it will.

If there is a way to manually add it, it be fine for me. but like others said this was a huge way of how i was using the platform

There is a method I use its cumbersome but it works.

  1. screen record the YouTube video

  2. extract the audio (I use media converter)

  3. use freesubtitles.ai (here is where extracting the audio comes in handy the file size is so small you can use the free subtitle service)

  4. Then add the audio and SRT file manually on LingQ via the website.

hope this helps
