Suggestions to improve the flashcards

The flashcard system has not changed since I started with LingQ almost six years ago. I like being able to control how many reviews in a day, as unlike Anki I can control how much time I spend on it.

But I would love it to be improved someday despite Steve not being a fan of flashcards. I find them a helpful supplement as long as the time spent doesn’t drown out my LingQ lessons.

Some changes I would like to see:

make the example sentences clickable for lingqs. I use the flashcards more for sentence mining than a 1:1 vocab card style, and much of the time in beginner and intermediate stages, there can be words I don’t know in the example sentence making it incomprehensible.

-take the whole line of dialogue, not just a chunk of the sentence the word/phrase was in
-clip the audio of the clip of the sentence where the word was derived from, the TTS is so clunky when it reads more than 3-4 words that it’s worthless, especially for non Western European languages.
-Make it space the words better, where it’s not just a binary know/not know options, so that you’re not just seeing words you don’t yet know in every review session. Anki’s algorithm is significantly better at spacing out cards you’re struggling with.

Any one of these changes would be a welcome change for those of use who decide to use the SRS in LingQ.

Yes I could just repeat lessons but this starts to get old for me at an intermediate level where I just want more novel content and review precisely what I haven’t yet acquired.

It would also improve LingQ vs its competitors in its reputation to learn languages that don’t have a Latin Script.
