Suggestions for Improving LingQ Homepage Display

Dear LingQ Team,

I am writing to you regarding the variety of content available across different languages on the platform. As you know, we learn best through materials that we truly enjoy. Personally, I prefer studying with the content I import into Lingq.

However, I’ve noticed that the application is overwhelmed with an unlimited amount of content, which I find overwhelming. This phenomenon is often referred to as the “paradox of choice,” and studies have shown that it can negatively impact the brain. It creates a similar feeling to being on social media, where users may experience information overload. This can be particularly frustrating when using LingQ, whether on the website, smartphone, or tablet.

Would it be possible to provide users with the option to hide content uploaded by other members so we can focus solely on the materials we enjoy? Adding such functionality to the homepage could help mitigate the paradox of choice and improve the overall user experience.

Personally, I would prefer to see only the content I’ve imported, as I’m not interested in other materials. I imagine other members might share the same concern. A more minimalist and focused approach would make the platform much more relaxing and user-friendly for learners.

I kindly ask you to consider implementing this feature. I love LingQ and want to continue using my favorite language-learning app without feeling frustrated.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.

Best regards,
Issam

Definitely second this. And please consider giving users the possibility to create their own library shelves so we can organise courses as we wish instead of having everything on the continue studying shelf.
