Speaking lessons on the go

So I have been thinking about starting to do lessons with a tutor in the near future. Ideally they would be about 30 minutes. The problem is, with work and a small child, there really isn’t any good time for them. However, I realise that I walk home every day and it takes about 45 minutes. With a modern smartphone and some headphones, is there any reason I could not just do a lesson with a tutor on the way home? Seems very practical to me. I wonder if anybody has any thoughts.

This sounds like a great idea, as long as you don’t have to write anything down and know enough of the target language to maintain a half-hour conversation. One thing I find fruitful during commutes is to listen to recorded material in my target language. I’ve found that the Pimsleur format of learning a language really fills this niche for me. I can listen and practice the material over and over whenever I want – and I really learn a lot.
