Speak Your Way To Fluency - Steve Kaufmann

To speak well in a language we’re learning, we need to speak a lot. This requires strategy. We need to first build up our comprehension and vocabulary. Then we need to find or create environments that are familiar, comfortable and meaningful.

I’m making myself speak Korean on iTalki even though I don’t feel ready. I’ve been struggling with Korean for several years now so I figure I shouldn’t wait more. Ideally, I’d get to about a B2 before outputting for fun. But I think outputting helps us learn too and if you’re plateauing like my A2 Korean then you need to do whatever it takes to get things moving forward again.
