Google the e-mail address and it becomes obvious that this is a spammer.

Thanks ijoh, I removed her account.
She’s back. The username is janebaby1.
Yes, she’s very persistent! I removed 4 her accounts during day. janebaby1 is also removed now.
…comes into thread to see if the anti-trump / anti-democracy spammers were being dealt with…
…leaves thread disappointed…
I had this. I get them from time to time. Anybody who makes a non-specific request for contact or for me to email their private email address, especially without saying why, is clearly up to no good.
Some people reply though and then they eventually end up posting warnings about their dating scam experience on sites around the Internet. Hopefully many will see this thread and be warned by it. I imagine it would be easy to find targets on a site full of people who are interested in foreign languages and cultures.
@ijoh you are hilarious
(Anyone who is easily offended might want to stay off this link)

Isn’t spam free speech?
Let’s distinguish more clearly between people saying things with which we disagree, and three or four select users – making a new post for their political views multiple times a day – and clogging up what was once a great forum.
All the while being cheered on by mods and admin. Indeed, certain mods have become the main forum anti- trump spammers.
In my view, keep it to one or two threads (not 76 anti trump new threads) - otherwise - it’s spam – and needs to be dealt with.
Today I receive one from annhester56.
Also removed now. Thanks!
“Isn’t spam free speech?”
I hope not. I don’t care about some online Casino’s right to tell me about its services. Especially as I loathe the whole concept of gambling and aren’t willing to pay them a dime for anything. If their trash gets blocked then fine. Applauds

I guess I interpreted you wrong then. I thought you were calling their posts spam in general which is what made me respond like this. There were a lot of threads for a while. I agree about that. But somehow that didn’t really bother me personally. I guess people were just worked up about the shocking results of the election. And let’s face it: Clinton vs. Trump was a very polarizing election so it’s not really strange that it got people typing on the forum. Especially considering that this forum clearly tolerates political discussion it would be a natural result. If someone kept posting pointless posts or posts that didn’t make any sense to the forum I’d call that spamming the forum but as long as they make sense and have a point (even if I think they’re lying!) then I just don’t care. Other people may think differently of course. I realize that. Lately it’s been kind of quiet though?

I’m sorry but I really don’t see how you got this impression that they’re being cheered on by mods and the admin. Steve mostly stays out of these discussions and I’ve yet to see any of the moderators cheer anyone on or get very involved except Yutaka, who posted many of these threads to begin with. I don’t consider it to be cheering anyone on if someone states their opinion. Also I haven’t seen any abuse of power by the moderators (I half expected Yutaka to ban me! just kidding) so I’d say the forum is very fair to its users. Have you got any examples of moderators cheering anyone on?
Edit: I just realized that you might interpret the fact they don’t delete these posts as cheering them on. But again, I just don’t see it the same way you do. I also have this need to vent sometimes when something gets me worked up so I totally get it.
I realize I may not be making myself “popular” with either side now. But that’s just me. Always trying to see both sides of the street, always complicating the hell out of things, and always the un-shuttable bigmouth. I realize that others may be more… erh… consistent in their hostility towards their opponents. But I just can’t help but try to see the other perspective even though I can’t get myself to adopt that perspective. Whatever. I’m just ranting I guess. Time for coffee and reading some Serbian.
iaing: It seems to me that you enjoy political discussions. Political conversation is essential in a healthy democracy.
When I think of “spam,” I think of “enlargement” ads or reverse mortgage offers that used to fill my inbox until I learned to use the block and delete function.
If the threads were more in line with your political views, would you still feel the same way?
You always have the option to not open a thread.
This isn’t a reply to anyone in particular, but free speech is a right of the people to be protected by the government(in some countries). Lingq however is a private company and has every right to limit speech(words) and topics that can be discussed on forums/profiles.
I think the issue is people have a discussion about a topic/issue that is relevant to our lives and hearing different point of view VS. some people just starting threads to spread slander and vent their anger.
Good: issue “x” is very important, what are people’s opinions from around the world?
Bad: posting a link to an article/video attacking a person with the original poster only saying they agree. (Is there a question, or discussion topic? Is this some form a therapy for the poster…a way to vent their anger?)
Yes, LingQ has the right to limit or censure speech that appears in its forums.
LingQ has chosen to allow political speech.
Stephen, it seems to me that you also enjoy political speech. If we censure someone else’s speech, will not our own speech one day be in jeopardy?
I am about as pro free speech as it gets. Unless it is a “direct” call for violence, anything is OK.
Censuring speech in the general public and in law is a big issue for me. This can come under attack by both the left and the right, but currently it is the extreme left.

Yes
