While I greatly appreciate Steve advising me what to do as a language learner, in addition to expertise, I value reciprocity.

In kind and hope for mutuality, is he “wondering what he should be focusing on as the head of a software company?”

To get the most out of LingQ, it isn’t just the gap under control of the user and the user’s learning philosophy or even user’s awareness of how basic functionality is supposed to be working, it’s also about how that functionality is working.

For me, personally, webinar content on how to use LingQ is good. What would be great would be to also cover, here’s how LingQ will be better.

Since this is posted here, I assume you have not just customer acquisition but also customer retention goals in the webinar.

Will Steve be answering questions from the audience? It would be good if he can spend a decent amount of time addressing all the service interruption issues and how LingQ will compensate paid users appropriately. The endless promises of fixes with no solution in sight is troubling and continues to prevent advance planning by users.

Steve is listed on the staff page as guru and co-founder, those demands seem out of his scope. Other staff members may be reached on the support and feedback forums or through the support e-mail.

We have decided to postpone the webinar to next week. I’ll post an updated time here shortly.

Those users who have already registered will have received an email mentioning the postponement, and will also receive a further email with a registration link for the new time once it has been confirmed.

Recently they advertised two different posts for marketing staff.

Surely they would be better off using that money to solve recurring issues, maybe recruit specialist software engineers. Or even pay YouTube a yearly fee to ensure continuity of service.

The way they regularly update the software, adding new features and adding new bugs whilst not addressing existing bugs does not seem very professional. It suggests a lack of regression testing and release methodology.

I like LingQ a lot, the concept is the best on the market, the reality at the moment is not so shiny. Imports do not work at all, and have not worked for days. It seems imports regularly break. Without import the application is of little use to me.
