Serie for Beginners to learn French, Spanish or German

Hi, if you’re beginner in French, Spanish or German and you haven’t heard of the TV show Extra, I really recommand it to you because it’s available in those three languages and you can find it with subtitles on youtube. Since it’s available in 3 languages, you can watch it in a language you already know and in the language you’re learning, that helps a lot. Watching a show I already know is really helpfull to learn a new language. In Italian I did that with Friends and it helped me a lot to start understanding authentic conversations.

I add a link to another Spanish show for beginners and intermediate, it’s called “Es español”. Unfortunatly the Youtube subtitles are autogenerated, so there are errors. But you can compare with the subtitles available in the video.

(FYI, series is both singular and plural, there is no ‘serie’. And while a lot of second-language English speakers use ‘series’ to describe things that are on television, YouTube etc, it’s more common for native speakers to say ‘shows’.)

By the way, Katys, I am interested in the series “Friends” you mentioned for Italian. Do you have a link to that series?

Hi, unfortunatly I don’t have a link for Friends in Italian. I found some of the episodes from the show (that’s sounds much better :-)) on Youtube but they usually end up erasing them. If you search on youtube maybe you can find something. After watching episodes from Friends on Youtube I looked for shows on Netflix with audio available in Italian. Unfortunatly Friends is not, but you can find others.

Thanks for posting this. I have seen the Spanish version of this and really enjoyed it. I am sure it will be helpful in German as well.

En ce qui concerne ’Extra French’, est-ce qu’il y a seuelment sept episodes de cette série? Il semble comme ça selon la chaîne qui contient ces épisodes?

I’ve had a short look on the German version. The quality of the video is horrible. But you can find it here along with the scripts: https://www.planet-schule.de/wissenspool/extra/inhalt/extra-deutsch.html

You can find the English, Frensh and Spanish version as well there. Other languages are not produced of it. I watched the English and French version many years ago with my daughter when she started learning these languages :slight_smile:

Yes, that’s great to see the video with a better quality. I just find so easy to import the video from youtubeYouTube with just one click.
