Sentence from the book "The lovely bones" - Alice Sebold

Hi all of you,

I was offered the book “The lovely bones” - Alice Sebold, i read it without searching for the words i don’t know and now i read it again, I dissect it, I go through it with a fine-tooth comb.

In the following sentence
“This story humiliated me every time he told it, to the pastor of our church, to our neighbor Mrs. Stead, who was a therapist and whose take on it he wanted to hear …”

What is the meaning of “whose take on it he wanted to hear” ?

Thank you for your help

It means whose opinion, point of view he wanted to hear. By the way, I read the book in French last year “La nostalgie de l’Ange”. It was a good translation.

Yeppers. Another way you can use the phrase is “What’s your take on the issue/on it?” “what’s your take?” etc. Just so you know.

Thank you both for your help.
