When I try to read offline (in an airplane or just somewhere with bad internet connection) it’s often not possible. Yes, I always download the lectures previously
But when I try to open them later while offline it keeps loading and loading and nothing appears on the screan. Sometimes I got the impression that the app is trying to get something from the internet and just is waiting till a connection is there. Don’t know but I keep getting this issue almost each time when I am offline. I use the Android LingQ App.
My problem is the app doesn’t do shortcuts so this is a non-starter. Disappointing as travel is aligned to why we learn languages.
Thanks for reporting. I asked our developers to investigate this.
You may know this, but I think you have to not only download them, but also open the lessons one-by-one while still online, to make them available offline. I presume the download is just the lesson download, and the opening separately loads and stores the definitions and potential definitions of words and lingQs in the lesson.
This is a very cumbersome process of preparation, but I go through it before flights (typically at the airport) and it works. I can’t lingQ multi-word phrases offline, but otherwise it works as normal.
I’m not sure if there is any purpose of downloading a lesson other than making it available offline. If not, it would be great if that were a one-click process. If there is another purpose to downloading, it would be helpful if there was a “Make available offline” button, rather than having to open each lesson.
I did that thing with opening the lessons in advance. Didn’t help at all.
Yes, please investigate. The app is unfortunately often not usable for me whenever I am offline.
