I bought one from Amazon.de a while ago to replace my much older model, and it’s pretty darned good!
There’s just one drawback though - it doesn’t have an expert/university level Italian dictionary to match the ones included for English, German, Latin and French. My understanding was that one could add new dictionaries by buying a special MicroSD card. However when I actually came to hunt around online, all I could find was a MiniSD card with an electronic version of the PONS Großwörterbuch Italienisch. This would be excellent - just exactly what I want. But I can’t find it anywhere in MicroSD format! Argh!
Does anyone know a way around this?
Is it actually possible to add new dictionaries to these devices? If not with the MicroSD card, then perhaps it would somehow be possible to add one to the spare internal memory via the USB link to a PC…?
(I’m absolutely sure that I read somewhere on Casio’s website that it is possible to add new dictionaries - but for the life of me I can’t see how it’s done…)
I’m sorry, Jay, but I’m afraid I can’t help you with this either. I actually bought a similar dictionary for Japanese during my first stay in Japan but to this day I have not figured out how to put it to good use. I’m terrible when it comes to technical stuff…
In my view, you’d better add special dictionary applications on an iPhone or an iPad if you don’t find an appropriate one. Although I have three electronic dictionaries, I rarely use them thanks to iPhone’s or iPad’s applications.
