Pop-up ad makes app unusable

The ad is cut off, meaning it’s missing the “x” that you need to click on to close the pop up. I literally have to turn my phone off and turn it back on again. App breaking spam is infuriating, especially one that’s trying to sell me on a product that I’m already using.

Photo included for reference. Please discontinue these pop-ups until you’ve fixed the formatting issue.

Adding this pop-up issue here as well: on my Samsung tablet, the daily streak pop-up started showing up as a banner at the top of the screen instead of how it previously did (in the middle of the screen). It seems there’s a bug with this update that, when I click the arrow to select the X button, the pop-up disappears for a second and then shows up again. It’s impossible to close it definitely and, as you can see in the screenshot, it blocks the first line of the text in a lesson. If I want to see it, I have to rotate the screen to landscape mode which is awful to read on.

This would indeed be frustrating. I don’t know what OS the OP is using, but I use the iphone app and website (with chrome on Mac OS) daily and do not see any persistent pop ups.

I’m using the iphone app as well. That’s interesting that you’re not seeing it. Might be a limited issue then…?

I see an update to 5.5.38 (0), but I am hesitant to update if your version is newer.

@zoran, are the popups recently introduced?

Yeah, I’m on the 5.5.38 version of the app. I wonder if that’s part of it.

Another possible factor: I’m also on an older version of IOS. It’s possible that this could be a bug resulting from using a version of the app that was made for a newer version of IOS. (Since this doesn’t appear to be a widespread issue, I’m guessing it must be a strange combination of factors on my end) Going to try to update today to see if that resolves it.
