Unfortunately I don’t see a change, everything looks the same as in the video I posted here at one point. Clicking the transliteration in the sidebar / pop-up switches to the desired transliteration, e.g. Pinyin or Jyutping, but this selection is not persistent. When selecting the next word using the arrow-keys the transliteration reverts back to the default, e.g. traditional characters.
It is puzzling that it works for you and not for me, can you check if the following two conditions apply to your environment?
1 Settings > Reader > Transliteration style to “Off”
2 Use the arrow-keys to select words
If you use the mouse and click the words, the setting is saved if you stay on the page, but will be forgotten when turning the page; regardless of using mouse or keyboard. The setting is also forgotten, when quitting the lesson and opening another one, or in fact re-opening the same one. The pop-up widget and the sidebar behave in the same way.
I see the issue on Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Cantonese and Japanese. Using the following browsers: Safari, Firefox and Edge.
I currently don’t have much free time, but if there is anything I can do, please let me know.
