Over there?

hi, i’m newbie on english
i need much help, excuse me about my newbie questions

“There is a restaurant over there on the corner”
what the “over” do in this case?
couldn´t be “There is a restaurant there on the corner?”

You are correct, it means pretty much the same thing as “There is a restaurant there on the corner”.

The “over” kind of indicates the distance from the speaker… but really it’s just a natural way to say the phrase.
