Languages are for communicating, not for competing with others. Novak Djokovic competes in tennis but communicates wonderfully in different languages, despite the odd mistake.

True, but Novak Djokovic (native language Serbian) is fluent or nearly fluent in English, German, French, and Italian. He can also communicate in Arabic, Japanese, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Portuguese.

Maybe you guys could line up an interview with him about language learning? Might be difficult, but the fact that it wouldn’t be an interview about tennis might make it unique enough to him that he might find it interesting too.
