Sometimes when watching a video lesson I will watch until the very end and I do not get the credit for listening which I assume I should. It never happens when listening only, and usually works with the videos as well. What step am I missing that is causing me to not get credit for listening when I watch videos?
I’ve had arguments with LingQ staff about this, and I don’t like how it currently works. When you’ve watched the video, switch to page mode, move to the first page, then scroll through each page until you reach the end. You can do this in the iOS app by swiping from left to right, or tapping on the right hand side of each page. That will gain you the points and known words.
Thanks. I will try. I had noticed scrolling to the end helped sometimes but did not seem like always. I may not have gone to the beginning or was in sentence mode.
Sentence mode hasn’t been logging listening time for pretty much all of November. I reported it about a week ago. Hopefully it is fixed soon, as my course ends next week, and I hope to read/listen to more books + audiobooks here. I use sentence mode to practice comprehension of individual sentence. eg: 1st pass - look up words. 2nd pass, read and listen, 3rd pass, listen only.
Unfortunately my trick won’t give you the listening time, just the points and words.
Thanks. I can see no logic for not counting the time for watching a youtube video but listening only is counted, I have songs that I listen to often as lingQ gives the translation and I have the Russian in the video. Perfect setup but the time doesn’t count.
I’m confused about this as well. Why doesn’t watching video count as listening time?
I hope they reconsider, especially since they provide the ability to bring in the videos. Another thing I noticed is often the text is not synced with a video and we are not able to fix it.
The out of sync bug has been there for ages. It makes LingQ useless, just use YouTube instead.
