@mark - thank for your help=) i’ll try it!
@ZHOULEI: Don’t worry, I can see your scheduled conversation classes and I guess other LingQers also can. I think the person who tutors cannot see their own ads and that’s why you can’t see it.
Thank you very much!
There are no Chinese tutors available, again. You know, people live all over the world, so there needs to be lots of tutors to cover all times of the day.
Where is that famous Chinese blogger blogging about LingQ? What kind of advertising does LingQ do in China? I think learning Chinese is becoming popular all over the world, but without enough Chinese users at LingQ, learning Chinese at LingQ may not become popular.
Apparently, nobody signed up for conversations with ZHOULEI. I wanted to, but the available times did not match for me.
As for me, I do not like to sign up for conversations too far in advance.
This is a problem that we’ve had for a while now, and it’s a bit of a cat-and-mouse game.
However, we are working on a few things that will make it easier for tutors and students to connect, more specifically allowing students to request to talk if a tutor is online at that moment. In the meantime, it may be best to post on the forum with the times that you would prefer. If we know the times you need, we can also try to help find a tutor for you.
Keith, try to contact your past tutor directly and arrange a time.
I can supply any help about the maderin:) I am from the mainland of China.
As a Chinese member, I feel really sorry to see these and there are some problems should be solved.
I knew lingq from a schoolmate who was preparing for IELTS and got the recommendation of this website from her teacher in 2008. But after register, I don’t know how to use it to improve my language. It seems too comlex for a Chinese to start with no Chinese tips and introductions, still ,even can’t find a Chinese person here to help.
It’s lingq’s newsletters sent to my email reminds me of it some day before and made me here again. This time I really find something attractive but I can’t find the schoolmate here. We must have lost many Chinese members.
In my opinion, a simple Chinese introduction for this site is necessary , because most of us who want to learn English are not very good at English. The translation work is still huge.
Besides, for the fees, it’s really a little expensive for Chinese to accept. You know Wall Street has a big market in China, which may be much more expensive, but students there can practise English directly with a English speaker face to face ,and improve quickly, the part we can’t ignor is that every student has a Chinese tutor who is alway there to offer help. No kidding, I once charged a lot to study English in Web , which is similar to Wall Street and advertised a lot on skype, and I was the best student there! I mean they want the effect that worth the fee ,but most of Chinese students are lack of the ability of self-study. They need the tutor to tell them what to do everyday. so this kind of teaching is not suitable and worthful for them.
Lack of students causes lack of tutors. And time is another important factor. I offerd converstions for two days and no learner. I suggest those who want to learn Chinese leave their schedule on Chinese forum, and I will do my best to fit. At the same time ,I will follow the suggestions above to find learners and tell them that I can be the tutor.
At last, this is really a fantastic place to learn all kinds of languages, we use it , so we contribute for it.And I will try my best to make the Chinese part better.

We have some explanation in Chinese and the video in Chinese. We need more, I agree. If you can help us with translation that will be great. We would love to have more Chinese members. I think they will learn more English here, if they are motivated, than at Wall Stree. But they have to be independent motivated learners.

It takes time to build up your learner base. Some of our leading tutors have created a lot of content, and comment on people’s walls to invite them to discussions. By the way, I looked for your conversations and did not find them. Are you sure you created some discussions times?
At any rate, glad to have you. But it all takes time.
The cost of living is pretty low in China. Would it not be possible to just hire a couple of professional Chinese language teachers to create content and serve as tutors?
