I think it was today or yesterday, the update to the new Chinese voice is really bad. The readings when you click on a word are often just completely off and sometimes it sounds very much like a struggling robot.
This also leads me to my other common problem with lingq - why so many unnecessary updates? The interface, displays, navigation… I feel like every few weeks, I open my app and something has changed about it, whether big or subtle. It’s extremely frustrating and is a great way to kill motivation as I was perfectly fine and used to my workflow. I didnt see any reason to change the voice to begin with…? And whats more, why update when it’s clearly not polished?
Has anyone else noticed this? Can someone help me with some answers and reassurance please?
The new premium chinese voice, yichen, is ridiculously bad. Its like hes pronouncing each word of the sentence in complete isolation, making unnatural stops between each of them. Resub’d because I was excited for the prospect of a premium mainland chinese voice aside from the current option, which seems to emulate a 90 year old chainsmoker, but cancelled after trying it for 30 seconds.
The first one, but it’s not about the TTS voice. I’m talking about each individual word, as I said. I’m also asking about the amount of changes and why the changes come out unpolished
@Heeeyyo1 Well for the pronunciation of individual words we use TTS, that’s why I am asking about the voice you have selected under Settings > Reader. Please check and let me know.
