Native Speaker Intuition

Hello everyone :slight_smile: I am a German university student and have to conduct a small scale study for a term paper. Basically, it’s all about your intuition. You will be asked to choose between two words in terms of which one appeared earlier in the history of language. There is no correct answer here, so don’t worry about whether your responses are right or wrong – it’s all about your gut feeling! Of course, everything is completely anonymous. Answering the survey will take about 5 minutes. The study is aimed at native speakers of German, English, and Dutch. Feel free to share the study with some friends as well. I am grateful for every response I get!

That survey is very long, you might struggle to get answers, I know Germans have the reputation for thoroughness, however …

Hey, I appreciate your feedback! However, I conducted a pilot study beforehand and participants usually took 5 to 10 seconds per answer, meaning the whole study took them about 2-5 minutes. This is of course without the optional part about explaining one’s choice; but this is, like I said, not mandatory. But of course, nobody has to participate! I’m grateful for anyone who is willing to invest the time though :slight_smile:
