Nabokov and English language

Guys. What do you think about Nabokov? I mean his English. How does it sound for native speakers?

Here is his interview: Vladimir Nabokov discusses "Lolita" part 1 of 2 - YouTube

His english is excellent, grammatically perfect and naturally phrased. And of course the vocabulary in his writings is possibly wider than that of an average educated native.

He does have a slight non-native accent, though not typically russian; if someone told me his first language was german, I could believe it. He sounds like and british professor from the the 1940’s with just a hint of non-native pronunciation.

Maths puts it quite well. In fact, had you told me this was a stuffy native British professor, I doubt I would have questioned his accent at all.
