My goal is to show that improvement takes a lot of work and that it requires you to make many mistakes.
Hello!
First of all. Well done! if you are an English speaker you have a nice pronunciation. Did you read from the script or just on the fly?
It is very important if you really feel like speaking (creating an output). If you start to feel like you push yourself into speaking it is better to have some pause and do more listening + reading (if you capable of it). Have you tried reading alongside with audiobook playing? I did that with Polish and that was very intense practice. Regards! Andrew
Hi! Sorry for the very late reply.
I did have some notes with me but my main aim was to practice speaking and pronunciation.
I have tried reading out loud alongside audio playing. Repeating what I heard was particularly useful when I studied German. Best wishes, Josh
Nothing to be sorry about). If you still acquiring Russian, try to have some period of input only. Read, Listen or Read and listen simultaneously. This period keep going without any output (speaking or writing). For example 1 week. I am doing my German now, use this with Story Listening sessions. I found that postponing output actually makes things move faster along the way.
One more time, you already have nice pronunciation and what you need is the feeling of what sounds right. Russian is one of the worst languages I met to face it with Grammar-Translation method. Comprehensible input is The King for this)
I am a native Russian speaker. How long have you been learning the language? I listened to your audio, and I noticed that it’s very difficult for you. and that you have only recently started learning it or just havn’t had any speaking practice. Yes, it is a great idea to practice speaking this language every day! I admire you! Russian is a very difficult language to speak - because it is not even clear where to put the stress there In Polish, for example, everything is simple - on the penultimate syllable
For me, a good leap in speaking practice was given by courses with a native speaker. I am studying German. After them, I even sleep poorly, because the information received in the lesson takes a long time to sort out. Podcasts also help.
